Due to prohibitive and escalating costs of orthotic supply outstripping the income for providing this NHS service. Orthotic supply from Chiropods has been suspended until contractual arrangements can be reviewed. All future referrals for orthotics should be directed by GP referral to the Orthopaedic department locally for the Orthotist attached to the Acute Trusts to provide this service under the terms of their contract.
